The Art of Dancing

Some have forgotten how to follow the lead
They haven't danced for the longest time
To dance again is pretty much like the first time
Afraid which foot to step first
Confused which hand to extend

They are always conscious of every move
Thinking and asking if everything is just right
To look straight into the partner's eyes
Or to simply look down
And be keen to watch every step

Each is aware that to dance gracefully
They must find that certain point of comfort
It’s about enjoying the moment
Moving to the rhythm
Internalizing the movements

But to make the dancing more interesting
You don’t always have to follow the lead
You can take two roles alternately
Take the lead or follow
Just let go of the hesitations

For now you simply have to follow
But maybe later you must take the lead
Gracefully roam around the dance floor
Look into each other’s eyes
And continue to move to the music
